Type US trims are used to create an upstand perimeter to areas of all types of suspended ceiling systems. Type US trims are commonly used to form the upstand around a floating island area of a suspended ceiling which is suspended below the main ceiling area. These can be curved on plan to both concave and convex radii to form curved edge ceiling layouts.

How to fit Type US upstand perimeter trim

1 · Choose your size

US01, US02, US050 or US300. Commonly used around a floating island ceiling hung below the main ceiling. Can be curved on plan, concave or convex.

2 · Fix to the grid

Fix the trim to the edge of the ceiling grid, hung with suspension clip cleats.

3 · Lay tiles

Sit the tiles on the trim's bottom flange.

4 · Fit the upstand

Fix the vertical plasterboard or MDF upstand into the trim's vertical leg.

5 · Join lengths

Use ceiling trim joining cleats for straight joins and corners.
