Type YA trims are used to create junction details between mineral fibre, g.r.g or full module metal suspended ceiling systems and adjacent areas of plasterboard. The horizontal web of the shadowgap designs can be factory slotted to form an air vent if required. Curved trims manufactured from composite sections to reproduce type YA trims are available.

What accessories do I need?

Ceiling trim joining cleats and Suspension clip cleats are available for this profile.

Can this trim be curved?

Yes, dependent on the radius needed. Email sales@qic-direct.com with the trim and the radius required and we will check it is possible and send a quote.

Can I get a different colour?

Yes. Other RAL colours and finishes are available on request. Email sales@qic-direct.com with the colour you need and we will confirm price and lead time.

How to fit Type YA

1 · Choose your size

YA0 (flush), YA15 or YA20 (15/20mm shadow gap).

2 · Fix to the framing

Fix the trim to the hanging angle/strap of the ceiling at the edge of the plasterboard area. Hang with suspension clip cleats where needed.

3 · Board

Fit the 12.5mm plasterboard over the plastering fin and fix through the pre-punched diagonal slots in the plastering fin with standard drywall screws. The trim must be backed by board.

4 · Lay tiles & join

Rest the mineral fibre or GRG tiles on the trim's support leg. Join lengths with ceiling trim joining cleats.

5 · Finish

Tape and joint the board side, skim and decorate. The shadow-gap web can be factory slotted as an air vent.
