Type X trims are used to create a shadowgap edge detail at perimeters and abutments of plasterboard ceilings. The horizontal web of the shadowgap can be factory slotted to form an air vent if required. Curved trims manufactured from composite sections to reproduce type X trims are available.

What is this trim used for?

Creates a shadowgap edge detail at perimeters and abutments of plasterboard ceilings.

Can this trim be curved?

Yes, dependent on the radius needed. Email sales@qic-direct.com with the trim and the radius required and we will check it is possible and send a quote.

Can I get a different colour?

Yes. Other RAL colours and finishes are available on request. Email sales@qic-direct.com with the colour you need and we will confirm price and lead time.

How quickly will my order arrive?

How to fit Type X

1 · Choose your size

X15, X20, X25 or X55 shadow gap.

2 · Fix to the wall

Fix the trim to the wall at the ceiling line, keeping it level all round (use a laser), with fixings to suit the wall.

3 · Board

Fit the plasterboard ceiling so its edge is captured by the trim and fix through the pre-punched diagonal slots in the plastering fin with standard drywall screws into the ceiling framing.

4 · Finish

Tape and joint, skim and decorate, leaving a crisp shadow gap at the wall.
