The Type ST trims are the big brothers of the Type R trims, going to bigger shadow gap sizes from 30mm upwards. The ST trim is to be used in conjunction with 12.5mm plasterboard where you wish to create horizontal/vertical reveal details in a variety of different settings, including suspended ceilings, door frames, floor skirting, window frames and many others.

What is this trim used for?

I need a shadow gap smaller than 30mm

Anything smaller than ST30 is covered by our Type R range.

Can you make a bespoke size or profile?

Yes. We offer bespoke trims cut from sheet metal as well as other extruded lengths. Email a drawing to sales@qic-direct.com and we will send a quotation.

Can I get a different colour?

Yes. Other RAL colours and finishes are available on request. Email sales@qic-direct.com with the colour you need and we will confirm price and lead time.

How quickly will my order arrive?

How to fit Type ST

1 · Choose your size

ST30, ST40, ST50, ST75 or ST100. Use with 12.5mm plasterboard.

2 · As a recessed skirting

Sit the trim at floor level against the metal channel and bond its base with adhesive/sealant so there are no visible fixings.

3 · As a large shadow gap

Fix the return to the abutment (ceiling, door frame or window frame) to create a 30-100mm reveal - smaller reveals use Type R.

4 · Board & fix

Fit the board so the plastering fin laps its face, and fix through the pre-punched diagonal slots in the plastering fin with standard drywall screws.

5 · Finish

Tape and joint over the plastering fin, skim and decorate.
